Driven by her desire to find a balance between strategy, communication and design, Shekha went on to pursue a combined marketing and business education. She then spent time in both management consulting and design management roles before joining Yellowwood's strategy team in 2011.
After completing a Business Science (Marketing) Honours degree at the University of Cape Town, Shekha started her career as a management consultant at Accenture. Here, she was primarily involved in organisational performance, stakeholder communication and customer relationship management-related projects. Some of her clients included Volkswagen, Europcar, BHP Billiton and Liberty Life. Three years later Shekha decided it was time to tap into her creative side.
She then spent some time working in an advisory and design management capacity at HKLM, an emerging market-focused branding and design agency. Here she worked with clients such as Gijima, Anglo American, Shanduka and Datatec. This valuable experience taught Shekha a lot about design, project management and herself: she discovered that her balance lay in between these two diverse work experiences - and so she joined Yellowwood's strategy team in mid-2011.
Shekha enjoys working on interesting and diverse projects with clients in different industries. This keeps her on her toes and ensures that she is always learning and challenging herself. When she's not working, Shekha enjoys planning (and taking) holidays to exotic countries, watching foreign films, taking photos and practicing yoga as often as she can.
