John's career in the design industry began at Grapplegroup Design under the mentorship of Kenny Saint and Roy Clucas.
He was a founder member of GITAM (Now Y&R) in the early 90's
working on scratchcard and gaming industry and various other
accounts during his six and a half years with the agency. An
opportunity in Dubai in 1999 resulted in a seven year stay in the
region where he worked predominantly on accounts in the Government,
Hospitality, Financial, Healthcare, Fitness and FMCG sectors;
namely The Executive Office, Jumeirah International, Emirates,
Coca-Cola, Beiersdorf, Emirates Bank, Intercontinental Hotels, U
Concept and Troon Golf.
In 1999 John returned home to South Africa with his family working
as a freelance designer on a multitude of accounts across many
industries. He is an avid sportsman and ultra distance athlete.
