Our People

David is an experienced marketing and brand strategy practitioner with some 18 years in the industry. He recently joined Yellowwood after returning from London where was Principal Consultant at Everystone Group, WPP's boutique marketing consultancy specialising in financial services.

David also worked across The Brand Union London where he led various consulting initiatives for Bank of America, Merck Serono, the UK Central Office of Information and Abu Dhabi Investment Corporation.

Prior to moving to London, David was the Managing Director of The Brand Union Johannesburg from 2005 and prior to this, Strategy Director for Africa Middle East. He accumulated a wealth of experience in the financial services sector having worked on leading brands, both local, Africa and international.   

David's broader experience covers a wide variety of sectors having worked in senior positions in agency groups TBWA, FCB & Grey Worldwide. He has worked with many leading global organisations and brands including Procter & Gamble, Heineken, Avis, Diners Club, Masterfoods, Mazda and Smithkline Beecham.

David has also spent time working in the ICT industry sector employed in Marketing Director, Managing Director & CEO positions and on the client side for two years ,contracting to De Beers to lead the development & launch of a UK pilot for a global trade marketing programme. He has a wealth of experience in the digital field having led South Africa's premier digital agency, Tinderbox from 1998-2002. 

David is a regular speaker on branding and design-related subjects; including the 10th International Design Indaba. He was Chairman of 'think' (South African Communication Design Council) and has sat on advisory council for various educational institutions. He has a BCom in Marketing & Business Administration & an Honours Degree in Advanced Strategic Marketing & Business Economics.
